Ahead of the Pay Per View that is tomorrow, CWD interviewer Sullivan Aimes has managed to organise a time to sit down with Talia Areano for an interview. Talia has remained somewhat silent on the topic of her upcoming match, besides some mentions on Twitter. Now though, it is her chance to put her thoughts across and pass judgement on the biggest match in her CWD career.
The cameras pick up the image at a local gym in the city. Talia is one of the lounge areas outside the sports hall. She is obviously dressed for training, wearing black shorts and a white sleeveless tee-shirt. Periodically she sips from a water battle, she begins to speak.
Sullivan Aimes: “Talia, thank you for taking the time to talk about your match this tomorrow at CWD "Immortal. And I’d like to get straight into it, if that’s okay. First of all, how intimidated are you feeling ahead of going into this match? Is this maybe one step too far?”
Talia arched an eyebrow, her face a picture of disbelief.
Talia Areano: “Intimidated? Not one bit. What’s to be intimidated about? I’ve been given one of the biggest opportunities of my entire CWD career. How pitiful would it be to let that slip through my hands just because it won’t be easy? This isn’t my first time wrestling in high profile matches, nor will it be the first time I’ve faced seemingly unbeatable odds. But you know what, if there’s anything I’ve proven at all over my years as a wrestler is that I rise to each and every challenge and perform to my best every single time. You’ll never see a sub standard performance from me, nor will you see less than everything I’ve got. I’m going to go into this title match with my head held high and walk about the exact same way with the Honors Championship.”
Sullivan Amies: “What about your quest to gain this opportunity for the Honors championship?
Talia Areano: “In that match my focus will be on winning. For tomorrow all my hard work will bare fruit. The moment I joined CWD my goal was to become a champion, I believed the Honors Cup was my chance to achieve that goal. Sadly it wasn't, I was completely crushed to be honest with you. But after sometime I decided I wouldn't allow that win to overtake my goal. I dusted myself off and once the Honors Cup came to a closed, another opportunity appeared in front of me. The battle royal."
Talia shifted on her seat, crossing one leg underneath her.
Talia Areano: "It was all about survival for me in that match. Everyone single one of us was hungry, I even had to face my own teammate. But I declared early on that friend or foe I was going to walk out of that match with my hand raised in the hand. That I was going to be the next challenger for the Honors championship. I wasn't going to let Britney Anders to get comfortable with the championship. Talia will be the one to take it from her."
Sullivan Aimes: “So far your opponent have stayed pretty silent about you. How do you react to something like that?”
Talia Areano: “It’s hardly surprising that I’ve been ignored so far by my competitor. What’s new there? It seems to be the en vogue thing to ignore wrestlers that you claim aren't on your level like they don’t exist. This is not the first time this has happened to me. I figured that Britney will give a moment of her time to address her first challenger. But it seems I am not worth it. huh? Britney will know front hand what I can bring to the table and how I will take what she has. I’ve been written off as less than nothing every single day of my career. People said that there was no way a poor Mexican girl could make it. That I couldn't make the jump into wrestling or being a modal or even star in tv shows. I’m living proof that you can. They said I was far too ‘pretty’ to be a competitor and would end up the arm candy of some ‘roided up man. I defy anyone to say that I don’t mix it up in the ring and kick ass when I do it and I’m not afraid to take the risks. They said an Mexican could never have international success, and here I am working for the greatest wrestling organizations in the world and about to step into one of the highest profile matches I have to date. The list is endless, and being ignored is nothing new to me. The fact is, people don’t see me as a threat, and that’s the reason why my career is as prolific as it has been. You make the mistake of counting me out, and that’s when you get the mother of rude awakenings. Britney will know not to underestimate me, it's been a long while since I became a champion and make no mistake, I’m in this match to win. If others choose to ignore what I bring to the table, well bigger fool them.”
Sullivan Amies: "What is your game plan going into this match?
Licking her lips, Talia tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear as she considered her answer.
Talia Areano: " I will be coming into this match strong and fast. Not given a moment for Britney to recover that is what I have to do. Without question Britney is going to do everything in her power, ever ounce of power she has saved up to deliver a heavy blow to me. When the moment she realize that whatever she tosses my way. I power out of it, at that moment she will try to grasp at straws. Once the opportunity appears it's self it will be my moment to strike. I will put everything into that one powerful move to pick up the win."
She smiles, leaning back into her seat, obviously quietly confident about the outcome of the match.
Sullivan Amies: "Anything else that needs to be said, Talia?”
Talia Areano: "Immortal will not just be a history moment for myself. But every else on the card as well. All my amigos and fans that will be watching in the crowd chanting my name and the thousands that will be watching on tv or all social media platforms. My mother and father will be watching this show from start to finish watching their baby girl do what she loves. This chance in a lifetime has been granted to me and I will make the most of it. I have worked tirelessly since the moment I signed to CWD, years on years and years on the road to study my craft and compete against the best the world has to offer. The achievement I managed to gain over the decade I been in the business has been nothing but hard work. All the disappointment and all the success. The tears that never stopped and the bruises that took over months to heal."
Her smile broadened and looked directly into the camera, her face completely serious despite the grin.
Talia Areano: "The name for show is quite fitting. By the end of tomorrow will career in CWD will be forever Immortalize in the history in the company. Because I am walking out as the Honors champion. Get ready Britney, because your for defense will be the toughest in your entire career.
Sullivan Aimes: Thank you for your time Talia. Good luck!
Talia Areano: Thank you Sullivan!
Before Talia walks away, she exchanges hands with Sullivan. Finally walking out of the camera view as it fades.
