His main motivation is his friendly rivalry with another Detroit Freak Factory graduate named Jaylen Michaels. He doesn't go to all the same companies as him and vice versa, but the two are always trying to one-up each other, and both athletes want to be the top star. He's a good kid and connects with the crowd, but he's much more intense than his average face counterpart. He also doesn't concern himself with keeping his head down and respecting those who have been in the business longer. He's unabashed that he wants two things: Money and Gold.

Shoju turns around and the smoke is blown away from the stage as the arena lights turn into the same green as the one Kota was standing in. Kota walks down the ramp, stopping halfway down to lift both hands above his head, his wrists overlapping each other as he points with both forefingers to the sky. He proceeds to head down the ring and leap onto the apron, the camera positions right next to him, looking up at him from the floor. Kota looks down at the camera and winks before flipping over the top rope and landing in the centre of the ring, dropping to a knee and cracking his neck.
