"Don't get it twisted, I'm still around."
The voice belonged to Jamal Scott, a relative unknown to Global Wrestling Division and to the industry as a whole, but he was determined to change that. Jamal stood in front of a GWD logo'd backdrop and clasped his hands together, nodding his head and allowing his dreads to flow freely, a smile on his face as he winked at the camera.
"Cause I know some of ya'll counted me out. I'm here to tell you, you shouldn't have and you never should. I'm only just breaking my foot into this industry and already, I've had my fair share of misfortune. It sucks. It really sucks but there isn't nothing you can do about it but learn from those misfortunes, learn from those mistakes and make sure that they don't happen again. My contract here isn't a lucrative one. But for as long as I'm here, I gotta show the people why I call myself the future of the industry, ya feel me?"
He took a pause before continuing.
"Tomorrow night, is Puroresu night and it's a night that I'm looking forward to. The name itself dedicated to a craft that I admire, the Japanese arts, though I have not honed it I will continue to learn and eventually get there. I find myself opening the show in a fatal four way and to tell you the truth, I don't like that shit. I don't like the idea of being in multi-man matches because that shit never goes to plan and shit hits the fan. But, it is still an opportunity to go out there and impress and that's what I'm trying to do.
A brother like Brady wants to get his foot in the door too and I respect that. I really do, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna go easy on him. He can't expect me to and I know he doesn't. We may be friends but that ain't gonna change shit, because if I have to go through him to get that W at the end of the match then so be it, I'll do it. And I don't expect anything less from him to be honest. He'll want this as bad as I do because he too, has got something to prove. In a way, we all have something to prove, yo.
Like Kendrick Kross, a brother only just signed for the company and I can tell that he's gonna be alright. I here he's signed over in the EWC, one of the biggest promotions in the world despite it's polarizing critics, but you've gotta be good to even get passed the assessment round, so the dude's gotta be alright. He's gotta prove that he belongs here. He wants to take on Storm and beat him for the title, and he wants to be the first ever Global Heritage champion too. It's all well and good saying these things, but there's a huge difference between saying them and doing them, and the question is whether the brother has what it takes to get the job done.
And then we have Fiona, who hasn't been on the best of form herself. She'll be wanting to redeem herself after that loss she endured a week ago and fair play too, she'll want this because she wants to prove to everybody that she belongs here too. I mean, I ain't got much to say about her, but I know she's gonna give it her all. I know that she'll wanna try win this whole thing and good for her, that's what you should be aspiring to do."
Once again he took a pause, stopping in motion and turning to the camera.
"Well, I want this because I need to show the world that I ain't some kid out of Atlanta who's just one big hit and miss. I'm the real deal and that in a few months time, it's going to be my name embedded in your minds. This, is a stepping stone to the future I'm dreaming of, I'm hoping of. Let's get it."
The scene faded to black.
