The footage of a man with a cardboard box laying on the cold, wet and dirty concrete. "Sir, get up. You shouldn't be out here." A voice above the sleeping fellow stirs but still remains camouflaged by some wet box. The unknown man reaches down and shakes the homeless man without any prevail. "Sir, Hey.. you need to get up. You can't be out there. It's not safe." The homeless turns over getting up onto his knee's then stands tall. Eye to eye with the onlooker, he thanks him and wonders off. Before he can get too far.. he stops him. "I wanted to ask, are you.." "Yes, It's I, Jack Clarke." The on-looking smiles then tell's, Jack, to come too him. He offer's his hand.. "I have some good news, that is, if you're interesting?" "Sure, anything good is news I want to listen too." "Not here. Let's going inside, have a warm breakfast and get you some warm clothes. You're adversity story is will change. Just need you to sit and listen to what I have too offer." "Sure." The man takes the keys out of his pocket and opens the door to the shelter. Shortly after.. the lights come on. The unknown man instructs, Jack.. to the shower room as he cook's the mornings meal. The scenes end there. CUT TO: Most professional wrestlers chasing their dreams don't see the bigger picture, they just see the silhouette. Make the vision real. Do something. Thats my vision. My path. You go to new places and it opens your eyes to different things you haven't seen before. Everything from colors, to silhouettes, to patterns - it just comes from everywhere. When I told my friends and family I would be leaving home to chase my dreams. It wasn't a shock to them. It was simply time. For many years, I've struggled with my life choices. I won't spare the time to tell you but you can guess. It led me down a path I don't want to travel again. Lonely, scared and helpless. It wasn't until a older fellow told me on a cold night. "Son, To Be Truly Iconic, You Must Recognize." I didn't truly get it. One night, I was laying there on the cold, wet floor -- the light bulb went off. That next day, I traveled throughout, Budapest. I took in everything until I found a way. At the morning shelter.. I began my plans. I was coming to America, Live my dream, give back to the great country I believe in and make my family proud. Life as a form is beautiful as it functional. That makes my hopes and dreams relevant. Let's be honest. That's true luxury. I've always been intrigued by, "What if." It's a question you can ask yourself ten times a day. What if, I didn't reveal my goals. Would I be.. Home in my flat with family, friends and television laughing? Having a good time by the bridge enjoying laughter with friends? Or better yet. What IF.. I traveled the world. Became, as you say.. "nomad?" The options are plenty. However, I choice the path I am on, because.. Simply it's my choice. This business is a fickle business. One minute, you can be red hot. Title shot after title shot. Then, poof. Company folds, You contract becomes void. Money runs dry then you get left in the cold. It's what happen too me. I am.. as you say.. a "Drifter." It's my choice. But that choice bite me in the ass. Instead of, fast girls and cars. I ended up sleeping under the stars. That stops here and now. I am signing, well. signed with CWD! Money is green, opportunities are endless. Coming to America, I am not being coquettish no longer. I am being dead serious. Next week, I debut here in CWD. Before that, I am going to travel the city, learn everything there is too know. Because, I can't suffer losses or fail. I can't let the company I represent, Die. By doing that. I must put on a show of a life-time and I get to share the squared-circle with, Shoju Kota. Shoju Kota, I see so many, similarities between, you and I. In-fact, I feel that might be the very reason we're matched up. You're an young athlete just breaking into the business. I'm recognizable throughout my country. Not to be mundane, but.. This isn't an coincidence, it's fact. So, no matter what, no matter who, no matter where you've been.. there is mutual understanding. However, I don't care. I plan on taking you out. It's my job, no sympathy needed. Shoju, Being young into the business. It's full-speed ahead. The lights in the arena are bright, the screams and roars are loud. But, you're still green and soft like baby shit. You have to do something, fight harder -- Over-extend your hand. I get it, I did the same thing. All the rook's in the business did it. BUT, then the whispers come, the devil on your shoulder leans in and talks. You change your base in your voice, the kicks and punches get stiffer, the release of a five count gets longer and longer. You know, the moment is here and now. BUT then you fail flat on your beak. You stumble backyards, you go backstage. One mistake, eh.. whatever, then the next night, then so on. Before you know it, you're outside the business looking in. Dick in hand, beer in the other. Soon, you're tossing your thumb up looking for a ride finally reaching the breaking point of standing on the roadway.. looking for handouts. As I said, I've been there. FYI.. The show is called, "Breaking Point," for a reason. Will you.. Will I.. Who will let their breaking point get the best of them? Sorry, son. It won't be me. I've hit rock bottom before and now I am on the come-up. Your luck is running our.. the hour glass is emptied. This is my time, you're just one leap frog from pulling it off. FADE TO: INT. OUTSIDE A SHELTER— BUDAPEST, HUNGARY — MARCH 24TH, 2018 "So here is the deal." Jack, former professional wrestler, turned homeless is seeing piling in some hot hotmeal looking different from earlier. A clean shower, shave and hot food can do justice. "I'm listening, Sir." "Well, I understand you feel on hard times. You're pretty much suffering. I have an offer for you. I promise, it will change your tribulation will end." "Well, what do you have in mind?" "First, we need to upgrade your passport. Get you some new clothing. I have a promotion in California, USA looking for young and upcoming talent. I remember you looking for work, but you pretty much vanished. But, there is still time. I can get you a contract and first plane to California USA.. this week. All you have to do is.. agree. We're discuss.. everything else later." "So, I will live -relive my dream job? Are you sure it's, legit? "Very. I've been to a few shows. You'll be happy." "I need gym time, but I am down. Sign me up!" The two men continue talking and eating breakfast. Shortly later, few more homeless people down on their luck make their way into the shelter and grab a warm breakfast as the scenes end. ● |
