Kendrick has been on a winning streak of sorts lately in the GWD. His only loss? The triple threat in the finals of the Global Heritage Tournament. Every match since then he’s won. So talent isn’t an issue with him, it’s title shots. He hadn’t gotten one since that tournament and he felt he’s deserved one. He could get one, but he has to go through Broseph to get it, which is odd to him to say the least.
Kendrick is perched upon the concrete wall of a the fountain at the Bellagio Hotel, people on the strip passing him and eyeing the camera man that was recording him. A few people recognized him but he waved them off as they tried to come up to him to get an autograph. Kendrick has never been a people person, he definitely wasn’t someone who just went around signing autographs either. People weren’t going to make money off of him, especially since he’s never been on a banner...no picture of him anywhere...which isn’t exactly something Kendrick has been happy about.
“Look at these people, wanting to come up to me, wanting to get autographs of me when I have no picture anywhere, they aren’t trying to get autographs of things with my picture on them. Why? Because the stupid company that is Global Wrestling Division doesn’t put me on any. One of their biggest money makers and I don’t get put on anything. What would happen if I left? They would lose money and they know it. That’s not even the worst part of it either. Look at who I have to go through to get a title shot at Puroresu. Broseph. The stupid idiot who hasn’t won what, one match that I can think of. I have to beat him to get a title shot. What’s up with that……..bro?”
“Why do I have to face a guy that isn’t exactly someone who is worthy of a title shot? Hell I would rather face Maki or Equinox. Nope. I get this idiot, a guy who won’t give me a fight. Come on, Roerich. Is this what the GWD has amounted to? Giving Broseph a shot when people better than this ‘bro’ deserve it? Where are your balls?”
Kendrick shakes his head and runs his hand through the water.
“Broseph is a tool, that’s all he is. He comes around the GWD wanting to take it by storm, wanting to be the so called ‘king of bros’ when he can’t even hang with anyone here in the GWD. Failure is not in a kings arsenal, it’s sad for broseph really. He goes around to these restaurants and these theatres, running into the same guy and wanting to say the dude isn’t a bro. I’m not sure Broseph knows what a Bro is. Broseph I think has made up his own definition of the ‘bro code.’ I would think a Bro doesn’t interrupt another bro while that bro is out with his girlfriend, bro. That ain’t cool bro! Did I get enough bros in there, bro? I hope so bro.”
“Look at you man, you go around wanting to say you’re a bro and you’re cool. You’ve just made a fool of yourself everywhere you’ve gone and that ain’t cool. Making a fool of yourself makes you well, a fool and fools aren’t bros. When it comes to wrestling matches though Broseph, you aren’t anywhere near bro level, if there is such a thing. You beat Philadelphia, but she isn’t here anymore, you beat a person who isn’t even in the company. Great job. When it comes to established people in this company you fall flat. You fell flat against Crippler. Sorry bro, but you don’t have a shot against me. I beat Melody last week. The Global Heritage Champion, Broseph. I beat her last week, I can do it again. Question is, could you beat me to get to her. I have a lot of doubts in that and in your ability. Yeah, you have high flying skills, I’ll give you that, bro. When it comes to in ring ability though, your ability to actually wrestle and not just try to fly everywhere? I don’t see you being able to compete with me, man. I have training in every style of martial arts you can think of, every type of wrestling you can think of. When it comes to pure skill and talent, I have it all. You want to step into the ring with me and think you’re just going be able to take me on? I’d say you’re smarter than that but by judging by your wannabe broness, I’m going to hold back on giving you that much credit.”
Kendrick pauses and takes a breath, smiling a bit.
“You actually thought a win against Deacon Crane meant something, whoever that is. You could have gotten over big time, you really could have. Each time you get your chance though you blow it. You don’t get that big win, you come up short. Bro you’re like that guy who tries so hard to get with the girl you really want and whenever you think you’re close she denies you or gets with another guy. You can almost get there but then you fall on your ass. It’s a shame bro.”
“I got a question for you. Who calls themselves the realest bro? Wait, don’t answer that, rhetorical question. Is that to big of a word for you? It means it’s a question that doesn’t need to be answered because the answer is already known. Look at you man. You walk around all cocky, thinking you’re all that. That you’re a cool dude. In reality you’re nowhere near any of those. What do you have to be cocky about? One win? I can get a single win in my sleep. Your broness? If anything, I have more broness than you, bro. It’s a fact of life, people who are successful have more “broness” I’m more successful than you, therefore have more money, therefore can get more women, therefore I’m more of a bro than you, at least, by your definition.”
Kendrick lets out a little laugh while gathering his thoughts.
“When we get in the ring together I am going to plead with you to just lie down and let me pin you, just take the loss the easy way. You have no chance anyway and you’ll just be causing yourself unneeded pain if you do it any other way. It’s going to be over quick anyways, one super kick and a curb stomp and you’ll be out bro. Don’t cause yourself that pain. I’m actually trying to be nice to you here bro. Let me just move on to Melody and take that title away from her that I so deserve. Speaking of Melody.”
Kendrick lets out a sly smile and laughs a bit.
“Melody Marshall. My former turtle gang member and friend. Holder of the Global Heritage Championship. The Championship I helped you win and you never thanked me for that, shame. Let’s move on from that though. Melody you like to think you’re the best around here, that you can’t be beaten. This would be a false assumption. See, everyone can be beaten, including me. Wow, me actually admitting I can be beaten? Well it’s true, I have been before, now whether those were flukes or not we will never know. Moving on though. At Global Domination you swore that you were going to come in there and take me out. That you knew exactly what it took to knock me down a peg. That it was going to just be that easy. How’d that turn out exactly? Oh, I beat you didn’t I? In the middle of that ring. How is that knee feeling? Did I hurt it enough, Melody? Does it need more pain because I can arrange that for you come Puroresu, that isn’t a problem for me. That title, the one that I wanted since it was first announced, it will be coming to me. There will be nothing you can do about it either. You cling to that title like it’s your most prized possession, that you can’t live without it. You won’t have any clue what to do after I take that from you Melody. I’m going to personally guarantee that after Puroresu, you won’t want to face me again. You won’t want that title back. Because once again, I’ll hurt that precious little knee of yours, if I have to, I’ll hurt it enough to where you won’t walk out of the ring Friday night. That title is going to be mine.”
“Melody, both you and broseph will tap out to the same thing I hurt you with before. One of my famous knee bars. Believe me, I’ll make sure I don’t release it this time whether your little posse comes down or not. You won’t be leaving that arena on your own power. You won’t be able to walk after our match, Melody. I want you to listen to every single word I’m saying to you as well. I’m not Samantha Hamilton. I’m not someone you can easily defeat, you found that out at Global Domination. I’m not a person that is just going to idly stand by and let you walk out with that title at Puroresu. I’m not easily defeated, at Puroresu you’ll find out what I am truly capable of. You just got a taste at Global Domination, you’ll get the full entree at Puroresu. I guarandamntee it.”
A final smile creeps across his face as the cameras fade out.
