Suddenly the area lights up. There walks a man wear a black hoodie. He has a pair of white shorts on. His face is shadowed with darkness. He seems like he is aimlessly walking around. He is was outside of an abandoned building in Manhattan Beach, California. He stumbles a bit and falls to the ground. The hood of his jacket flies back. His face is a pale white. His eyes are blood shot. He seems very out of it. He Tries to get back up but falls back to the ground. He lets out a loud cough that echoes through the area. He pulls himself back to his hands and knees. He had fallen back into the abyss that once consumed his soul. He was not the same person that people knew. He had put on an act and now he was suffering from it. He once loved what he did, but now it was truly the bane of his life. He was lost in a world he once knew.
Nox had it all once upon a time. A promising career and all that. Many championships to his name and his legacy. Now look at where he was. At the bottom of a new company just inches away from going somewhere. Word had he’d be squaring off with one Noah Reigner & Jamal Scott. He’d heard of Noah vaguely. But Jamal not much is known of him.
Nox’s last opponent was for the Global Heritigae Festival against Kendrick Kross. Nox knew they’d face off again someday. Though Nox came up short he gave the fans at least something to talk about. The match they had was something the High Fliers really enjoyed and to Nox if they enjoyed then he’d go on to fight another day.
He has been champion just about everywhere he’s been. Now it’s time he shows the High Fliers and the roster why. He wasn’t walking into this match as some rookie and there was a sneaky suspicion that Jamal & Noah thought so. He’d kept thinking people underestimated him and he was damn sure they all did. Except for his friend, family, friends.
He was nursing his wounds right now, and he knew he’d be back. Opening the door to the abandoned building he enter only to meet be a loud [BEEP] as the camcorder started recording and blinding light hit Nox in the face as out from the shadows of the dark building stepped his brother Erik.
“Don’t let it get to your head, Nox. You are better than this. Better than you’re two next opposition at Manhattan Beach Invasion. Noah Reigner is the only thorn for you to worry about in this rose of GWD.”
The words his brother spoke were encouraging as his brother was one never to give up on him even in the worst of times.
“I won’t let this be the end of me.” Nox smiled as he looks his brother in his eyes
“Good. Because IF you let you insecure define you, then either Scott of Jamal or the Reign of Noah will prevail.”
Nox nodded and realized his brother was right. He threw his hands ever so slightly through his own hair.
“You always knew what to say Brother, thank you.”
His brother nods and leaves into the darkness to allow Nox some time alone.
“Everything I’ve ever done has leaded me to this moment boys. I see I am facing Noah Reigner. I know very little of him. WWH Rising Wrestler of The Year I presume. He’s contending and possibly winning the tag titles of Union Battleground. He’s pretty skilled to say the least. I will look forward to seeing how far I can push him.”
He knew he could not leave out Jamal Scott. But he also knew he had to take this match seriously. It was an opportunity…
An opportunity to prove himself again.
Equinox follows the light’s shadow along to a pair of stairs and heads up. We see Erik come out of the shadows with an extra camcorder. We see Nox reach the top of the stairs and there is a door which he opens. He sees many things outside once he realizes he’s on the roof. Kids playing basketball not to far away. Some elder man helping some elderly lady across the street.
He closes his eyes to envision what the fans might see later at the show and he smiles.
“Jamal Scott. As far I know your only match to date is that Fatal Four Way at Puroresu.”
He paused, placing his hands on the edge of the building to peer out at the sunset
“I said it before that Kendrick Kross reminded me of Icarus and while that is true. I can’t help but think I was wrong because Jamal in this scenario at the Manhattan Center you’ll be the icarus. Noah will be the sea and I will be the thing that simply burns you to a crisp.”
Another pause as he thought, but he didn’t stay quiet for long.
“Noah do you believe in yourself so highly you think yourself invincible? See out of this dance if you between me, you & Jamal. I find you the most of the challenge I’ll receive in a few days time. I want to find out more about you. Find what makes you tick and then see what your limits are. I’m known for a lot of things and pushing people to their limits is what I do better than anything else or anyone. Don’t believe me? Just ask Kendrick Kross. Ask other guys like Alex Jones or even Konrad Raab for example.”
-Slight pause-
“Same goes to you Jamal Scott. See you’re someone I know nothing about and more power to you on that. You simply could be a wildcard if you will. Whatever you believe yourself to be Jamal, bring that to the game we’re about to play. In fact bring whatever side of you that you wish, I can tell you right now that I believe in myself and I know deep down I can beat both of you. But in the end result anything can happen. Each of us wants to win. Each of us wants to be at the top. Each of us wants to be the best. The only difference between you two and me?”
He chuckles running his hands through his hair
“I’m willing to suffer for it. Willing to bleed and die for it. I am willing to give it my all and leave no stone unturned. Every single match I wrestle I am all in. I have the skill and the focus. The drive and determination to see it through. I’d like to believe you both are looking forward to this fight like me. But I doubt it. Knowing Noah he’s already self medicated himself to believe he’ll overcome me. The cards are written in your favor, aren’t they Noah? Well I am damn sure have a lot to prove then don’t I? Here’s the thing though boys I am not just some highspot monkey who just puts you over whenever you damn well please. I have a family at home counting on me.”
He takes a moment to pause
“I have no problems with either of you. I want you to understand I am just as good IF not better than you both. On any given day one of us can beat the other. I learnt a longtime ago your only as good as you thrive to be. Ever since I lost to Kendrick Kross I have been training for another crack at this company and the time has come for that crack. See my way to the championships of this place starts with you both. A championship means more funding for my family’s future and that I can’t afford to lose track of.”
He smiles. This was fun speaking on how he felt on the match to come.
“I’m the high spot hero. I don’t always crash and burn. In fact I push myself further with each match. With each match I will go higher and higher in the means of being their Highspot Hero. I will continue to climb, and burn through anyone who gets in my way. When we meet in Manhattan, California your fated will be sealed. The homework will be already done as if it wasn’t done already before. So good luck to you Noah. Good Luck to Jamal. Because when that bell rings we’re fighting for survival. I’m bringing everything I have into this match. End of Story, simple as that. Welcome to Wayward Dreams.”
And with that the scene and camcorder fades to black as Equinox heads back inside the building to prepare his paint of war.
